The History of ART

In 1987, a group of 12 manufacturers met in High Point for the first time to discuss forming an alliance to negotiate showroom space, partner with events and produce a series of education videos promoting decorative accessories.   Originally limited to High Point showrooms only, the group incorporated in 1988 and began expanding their negotiations to include Dallas, Atlanta and San Francisco.   The group remained small and limited to 20 vendors until 1992, when they voted to recruit and include retail stores, sales reps, market centers, press and other industry professionals.
